Direct therapy intervention
should begin at this time. Frequency to be determined on a specific case basis.
Full PROM and AROM as
tolerated. Be aware of compensatory patterns. May need to use external supports to maintain alignment.
Treatment Goals:
Enable child to adjust to
new extremity position
Enable child to see changes
since before surgery: important that they become invested in therapy
Increase clean AROM of the
shoulder abductors/flexors,
external rotators, and elbow extensors
